Although by default NVDA will start to read out the entire page after it is loaded, this is not how a screen reader user will typically consume the content of a webpage.
Headings, or in HTML terms <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, <h4>, <h5>, and <h6>, are the main way most screen reader users navigate.
Press H to go to the next heading, and SHIFT + H to go the previous heading.
You can also use 1 through 6 to navigate through headings of that level. Again, combine with SHIFT to go backwards.
